I want so very much to write you a poem, And to compare the beauty of your soul and your face To nothing so worthy, with countless four-syllable adjectives And quotes from famous minds that nobody's heard of, To put forward the appearance of an educated man, On a very ordinary piece of paper, with each Letter Intricately scribed with a ghastly, intoxicating formality- Just in case any and each would be the one letter you'd fix Your eyes upon- your glorious eyes.

I see you there. Yes, you. And all your darkness and misery. Are you hollow? Are you dead inside? Has this neon city eaten you whole? Every night I see you through that window there. Sulking, sitting at that same table, in that same var. With an empty stare you look out the window. Letting all the shame cast shadows on your face. And your tears fall inside. You sip your strawberry daiquiri; it seems to contrast your dark hair and eyes. You watch the people as they pass by. No one sees.
